Light Science Technologies Reports £2.15M Revenue Surge in

Light Science Technologies Holdings PLC reported a revenue surge of £2.15 million in the two months ending July 31, 2026, which accounted for over half of its total revenue for the first half of the year. The company, which specializes in fire safety materials, contract electronics, and agricultural systems, anticipates a significantly stronger second half following this performance. The interim results for the six months ended May 31 showed total revenue of £3.73 million, a decline from £5.06 million in the same period last year, with a gross margin of 30.5%, down from 36.3%. The adjusted operating loss was £0.69 million, compared to a profit in the previous year.

Strategic Acquisitions

The company raised £6.6 million gross, or £6.1 million net, during the period, funding three acquisitions completed in April. Notably, the acquisition of RLUK Injection Ltd has positioned Light Science as the exclusive supplier of Injectaclad, a fire-stopping material. More than ten installations of Injectaclad are currently underway, with additional material orders anticipated, which could further enhance revenue. The company also reported a committed forward order book of £3.09 million at the end of July, most of which is expected to be recognized as revenue before the year ends.

Challenges and Future Outlook

Despite the positive revenue trajectory, the company faced challenges during the first half, primarily due to delays in the passive fire protection division caused by a backlog at the Building Safety Regulator. Chief Executive Simon Deacon described the period as transformational, highlighting improved trading momentum and the integration of new clients in the contract electronics division, which is expected to generate up to £1 million annually. Cash and undrawn facilities stood at £2.93 million at the end of July.

Market Impact

The reported revenue growth and strategic acquisitions could positively influence investor sentiment in the fire safety and construction sectors, particularly as Light Science Technologies expands its market presence. Investors will watch for updates on the recognition of revenue from the committed order book and any further developments in the Building Safety Regulator's approval processes.
