Romania's Inclusion in FTSE Global All Cap Indices
Romania will have 10 companies in the FTSE Global All Cap indices for the first time. This follows the addition of Aquila Part Prod Com and Cris-Tim Family Holding. The changes were announced on August 21 and will take effect on September 21, 2026. These changes are subject to revision until September 4. The two new companies will join eight others already in the indices: Banca Transilvania, Electrica, Hidroelectrica, MedLife, Nuclearelectrica, One United Properties, Teraplast, and TTS Transport Trade Services.
Electrica will also move from the Mid Cap to the Large Cap category. This change reflects its increased market value. In total, Romania will have 13 companies represented in FTSE Russell’s relevant indices. This includes three in the FTSE Global Micro Cap indices: Arobs Transilvania Software, Bucharest Stock Exchange, and Conpet. Simtel Team will exit the Micro Cap indices as part of the review.
Remus Vulpescu, CEO of the Bucharest Stock Exchange, said, "The inclusion of Aquila Part Prod Com and Cris-Tim Family Holding in the FTSE Global All Cap indices confirms the evolution of our market and the ability of local issuers to meet the criteria of international institutional investors." He added that this milestone strengthens Romania's visibility in the global investment landscape.

The inclusion of Aquila and Cris-Tim in the FTSE Global All Cap indices could attract more investment into Romanian stocks. This is especially true in the consumer goods and distribution sectors. Investors may respond positively to the broader representation of Romanian companies in global markets. Watch for further updates on the final adjustments to the indices by September 4.
