Jio Platforms Plans IPO
Jio Platforms Ltd will launch its initial public offering (IPO) on October 21, 2026. The company aims to raise ₹30,213 crore. The price band for the IPO is set between ₹1,065 and ₹1,119 per share. This makes it the largest public issue in India's capital market history, according to a report by Livemint.
The IPO has already drawn significant interest. The anchor book demand has exceeded 30 times its size, totaling nearly ₹2.5 lakh crore, as reported by Moneycontrol. Vallabh Bhanshali from Enam Group called the offering a safe, long-term investment. He emphasized Jio's potential as a leader in telecom.
Mihir Vora of TRUST Mutual Fund noted the overall value in the telecom sector. He pointed out recent consolidation and structural changes. Jio's mobile average revenue per user (ARPU) was ₹203 in FY26, while Airtel's was ₹254. Analysts believe that a small increase in ARPU could greatly improve Jio's financial performance. Projections suggest a potential drop in the price-to-earnings (P/E) ratio to around 25 by FY28 if revenue grows by 10%.

The IPO is likely to affect investor sentiment in the telecom sector. It could particularly impact shares of Jio and its competitors. A successful offering may also open the door for Reliance Retail's expected IPO in the coming years. Investors will be watching for the subscription results and any updates on Jio's pricing strategy after the IPO launch.
