Ripple's rebranded prime brokerage business has seen its revenue triple year over year, driven by its acquisition of Hidden Road, which closed in October 2025. The company aims to connect traditional finance with digital assets through 24/7 institutional trading, according to Michael Higgins, international CEO of Ripple Prime. This transformation is part of Ripple's vision for what Higgins describes as "Wall Street 2.0," where financial transactions increasingly utilize blockchain technology.
Institutional Adoption Grows
Higgins noted that institutional adoption of digital assets is becoming more sophisticated, despite ongoing challenges in cryptocurrency prices. He highlighted that asset managers are increasingly tokenizing money-market funds and utilizing them in transactions involving stablecoins and repurchase agreements. This trend suggests a shift in how financial institutions view and engage with digital assets.
RLUSD Integration
Ripple Prime is also expanding its integration of RLUSD, its stablecoin, across its offerings. Certain derivatives clients have begun to hold balances in RLUSD, and further adoption is anticipated as exchanges and institutional platforms move towards continuous trading. Higgins indicated that RLUSD could play a significant role in future transactions, especially if they align with the GENIUS Act-compliant stablecoins.

Ripple's developments could influence the cryptocurrency market, particularly in the realm of institutional investments and stablecoin adoption. As more traditional financial entities engage with blockchain technology, this may lead to increased volatility and interest in related digital assets.
Investors will watch for further announcements regarding Ripple's partnerships and product offerings in the coming months.
