Bitcoin Reclaims $64,000 Amid Analyst Caution on Market Low

Bitcoin (CRYPTO: BTC) has risen to approximately $64,400, recovering from a low near $57,000 earlier this summer. The cryptocurrency has reclaimed its 200-week simple moving average, a significant technical indicator, according to data from Benzinga.

Analyst Insights

Crypto analyst Benjamin Cowen has stated that while the recovery is notable, it does not indicate the end of the bear market. In his July 2026 Bitcoin Cycle Memo, Cowen suggested that the market may not see a definitive low for several months, citing historical patterns and macroeconomic conditions. He noted that the current setup may favor a bottom in the fourth quarter of this year.

Cowen pointed out that several long-term accumulation metrics have reached historically favorable levels. However, he warned that key indicators have not fully reset, including the MVRV Z-Score, which remains above levels typically associated with major cycle lows. Additionally, Bitcoin's realized price has not revisited the $53,000 mark, and previous bear markets have generally bottomed below balanced price levels.

Market Conditions

Despite Bitcoin's recent recovery, the market has shown signs of weakness. The report highlighted that Bitcoin ETFs experienced net outflows of $11.3 million in July 2026 to date, following a significant outflow of $4.5 billion in June. Cowen emphasized that a sustained weekly move above the 50-week SMA near $86,500 would be crucial for confirming a bullish trend.
