Tata Technologies targets $1 billion revenue by FY28

Tata Technologies Ltd aims to achieve $1 billion in revenue by fiscal year 2028, according to CEO Warren Harris. In an interview on Friday, Harris expressed confidence in reaching this target, stating,

It is very much on, and we are still very, very committed to it.

The Pune-based engineering services firm reported revenue of $619.8 million for the last fiscal year, marking a 1.5% increase from the previous year, after recovering from a revenue decline in FY25.

Growth Strategy

Harris attributed the company's growth strategy to rising expenditures in the automotive sector and a new focus on aerospace. He noted that the firm had experienced a unique pause in technology spending over the last 18 months, driven by U.S. tariffs and a slowdown in the transition to electric vehicles (EVs). This situation has prompted clients to reassess their product portfolios and investment strategies.

The pause in tech spending has prompted a need for our customers to accelerate the development of new products, and that's prompting a greater propensity to outsource,

he said.

Market Position

Despite a challenging environment for India's largest information technology firms, Tata Technologies' shares have gained 18% this year. Harris emphasized the importance of continuous investment in new products to avoid jeopardizing future opportunities. The company is also looking to leverage its exposure to Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) as part of its growth strategy.

Market Impact

The company's ambitious revenue target could influence investor sentiment in the automotive and aerospace sectors, particularly as it aligns with rising auto spending. Investors may closely monitor Tata Technologies' performance as it seeks to capitalize on increased outsourcing demands in the engineering services market.
